{"id":5409,"date":"2017-11-21T14:57:09","date_gmt":"2017-11-21T13:23:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.elinare.com\/swimming-pool-with-vaulted-ceiling-named-best-architecture-photograph-of-2017\/"},"modified":"2017-11-21T15:23:49","modified_gmt":"2017-11-21T13:23:49","slug":"swimming-pool-with-vaulted-ceiling-named-best-architecture-photograph-of-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elinare.com\/en\/swimming-pool-with-vaulted-ceiling-named-best-architecture-photograph-of-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Swimming pool with vaulted ceiling named best architecture photograph of 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This shot of a dramatically lit swimming pool, taken by Terrence Zhang, has been named architectural\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/photography\">photograph<\/a>\u00a0of the year.<span id=\"more-1154448\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Shanghai-based photographer Zhang was named overall winner in this year&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.archphotoawards.com\/\">Arcaid Images Architectural Photography Awards<\/a>\u00a0during the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/events\/2017\/world-architecture-festival-2017\/\">World Architecture Festival<\/a>\u00a0in Berlin last week.<\/p>\n<p>He was awarded the title for an almost symmetrical image, which shows light flooding through a\u00a0row of elliptical windows set into the barrel-vaulted ceiling of a swimming pool. The pool is located within a new campus designed for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tju.edu.cn\/english\/\">Tianjin University<\/a>\u00a0by Chinese studio\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/li-xiaodong\/\">Atelier Li Xinggang<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Swimming Pool was one of three images by Zhang shortlisted for this year&#8217;s awards,\u00a0including a shot of the gymnasium within the same building. The third shortlisted image captured the view from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2015\/10\/16\/china-academy-of-arts-folk-art-museum-kengo-kuma-recycled-tiles-roof\/\">Folk Art Museum by Kengo Kuma<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1506076990687-0\" class=\"ad--300---mobile----inline\"><\/div>\n<p>The winning entry was announced during the gala dinner held on the final day of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/events\/2017\/world-architecture-festival-2017\/\">World Architecture Festival 2017<\/a>, which took place in Berlin from 15 to 17 November 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This shot of a dramatically lit swimming pool, taken by Terrence Zhang, has been named architectural\u00a0photograph\u00a0of the year.
